After an Accident or Injury…

  • At the scene, get the other driver’s name, address, phone number, driver’s license number, and insurance company information.
  • Immediately report the accident to your insurance company.
  • If you’re hurting, seek medical help as soon as possible.  Early treatment gives you the best chance of healing and also documents your injuries.
  • Don’t discuss your accident with the other person’s insurance company, because they don’t have your best interests in mind.  Your attorney and your insurance company will contact them.

If you’ve been Hurt at Work…

  • Tell your supervisor about the injury as soon as you realize you’ve been hurt.
  • See your doctor as soon as possible.  Explain exactly how the injury happened at work.
  • Some work-related injuries develop over a long period of time due to “wear and tear.”   Tell your doctor if your job is repetitive and your pain has developed over time.  You may still be eligible for Workers’ Compensation.

  • Take the car to a factory-authorized dealer and report the problem.
  • If the problem continues, take it back.
  • Understand that the lemon law applies to new cars or demonstrators that have been serviced four or more times in the first year for the same problem.
  • The lemon law also covers a new car that has been in the shop more than 30 days during the first year.
  • Your attorney can advise you whether your car qualifies under the lemon law.
